Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 7 October 2026
Who we are: Beijing Time Value Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing, China, is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: support@interviewpal.io.
1. What we collect
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Email address (waitlist or account) | Access link, receipts, support | Until you unsubscribe or delete your account |
| Your spoken answers — audio | Transcription and fact marking | Deleted after transcription |
| Transcripts of your answers | So you can read and re-practise; account history | Until you delete them or your account |
| Résumé and job-description text you paste | Building questions for that role | Not kept after the session |
| Purchase records (pack, date, amount, country) | Delivering what you bought, refunds, tax | As required by tax and accounting law |
| Basic technical logs (IP address, device, timestamps) | Security, rate limiting, abuse prevention | Up to 90 days |
We do not ask for, and do not want, special-category data (health, religion, ethnicity, political views). If you choose to mention such things in a practice answer, that is your choice; it is treated like the rest of your transcript.
2. What we do not do
- We do not keep your audio recordings.
- We do not use your answers, transcripts, résumé or job descriptions to train AI models.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- We do not use your data to rank you, score you, or to make hiring decisions about anyone.
- We do not process your payment card details — those go to our payment provider.
3. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers, who act on our instructions:
- Paddle.com Market Limited and affiliates — payment processing, merchant of record, invoicing and tax. Paddle receives your name, email, billing address and payment details as the seller of record.
- Deepgram, Inc. (United States) — speech-to-text transcription of your answer audio.
- OpenAI, L.L.C. (United States) — analysing the transcript to mark facts and write the short list of changes. It receives transcript text, not audio.
- Our hosting provider — servers and databases holding transcripts and account records.
- Our email provider — sending access links, receipts and support replies.
Because these providers are mainly in the United States and we operate from China, your data is transferred to and processed in those countries. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent lawful mechanism. Providers are bound to use the data only to deliver the service to us.
4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Contract — providing the practice service you asked for and delivering what you bought.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and rate limiting.
- Consent — marketing emails, which you can withdraw any time by replying to one.
- Legal obligation — keeping purchase records for tax and accounting.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to complain to a supervisory authority. This includes rights under the EU/UK GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA).
To exercise any right, email support@interviewpal.io from the address you used. We respond within 30 days. You can delete individual transcripts in the product and you can delete your account, which removes your transcripts and account data.
6. Security
Audio, transcripts and account data are transmitted over TLS and stored on access-controlled servers. Audio is deleted after transcription. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
7. Children
The Service is for people preparing for job interviews and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
8. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the version and date above. Material changes will be announced by email or on the site before they take effect.
